innovation
inventing a polymer-free, mineral-based hydrogel technology for cosmetic and medical applications

Salma Younes  patented class of polymer-free, two-dimensional mineral hydrogels that self-assemble into nanosheet structures, enabling cleaner, high-performance applications in skincare, antimicrobial therapies, and wound healing, thus establishing a new class of inorganic biomaterials.

The innovation offers three key functional benefits: 1. Antimicrobial protection, 2. Soothing and regenerating effects for the skin, and 3. A simple, biocompatible formulation suitable for sensitive skin.

This structure provides a valuable alternative in light of increasing antimicrobial resistance and the demand for cleaner consumer products. Because mineral-derived hydrogels are scalable and sustainable, they allow for customized applications in cosmetic skincare (such as acne treatment and irritation relief)

And in advanced medical contexts (such as wound care gels and infection prevention), as well as in dermatology and broader medical settings, with potential for expansion into drug delivery, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine.

Their short-term goals focus on launching the first skincare product line focused on acne and validating clinical pathways, while their long-term plan aims to develop their innovation into a global standard for safe, sustainable, and high-performance biomaterials for medical wound care and regenerative dermatological treatments.
